"Designer Crutches" was an idea that came to fruition when two seemingly unrelated events came together and started an unexpected relationship.

I was intrigued with a phenomenon that occured a few years ago. There was a mad rush of designers who passed through and were anxious to leave their mark on the culture. Just about everything you can think of was redesigned to satisfy an imagined audience of style craving middle Americans. No stone was left unturned. Or was there?

No one had taken an interest in temporary prosthetic devices. Maybe I could start a new direction for the design market?

Have I gone too far? Is there a way to go back? Are we better for it? Will we ever be the same again?
